My blog is for people who are interested in an art textile.

In recent years, increasing attention has been given to my 3D work.

My inspiration is nature. I would like to share my experiences with others.

Environment

I live with my husband in a wonderful region in France. The lake of Annecy is 7 minutes from the place where I live and for the ski slopes 25 minutes. There are a number of places for bread and breakfast in our little village.

About me

Louise Hoeksema-van den Bergh: I am born in the Netherlands, a long time ago, 1934. I have lived in the USA, near the Twin Cities in the Mid-West and also in Germany, near Frankfurt. 20 years ago I moved with my husband to France where we have our home, near the lake of Annecy. We live in a little village called Alex at an altitude of 800 meters, about 10 minutes driving from the lake and 30 minutes from the ski stations. My mother had an atelier making women’s lingerie so I was very young to start sewing. Now I create my works in textile in three dimensions. I have gained a lot of experience in different techniques. A number of years ago I joined a club with the name “pourquoi pas” with means why not. It is a lot of fun because we use different things to work with textiles. So as nespresso capsules, hardware, a bra, a sponge etc.
